Gwadar is a happening port city on the southwestern coast of Balochistan. Why I call it happening? because it has been the center of spotlight for many reasons – which includes 1) travel, due to its serene blue beaches, mountainous landscape and breath-taking shores 2) Business – As Gwadar is third important deep sea port in Pakistan for international sea shipping and trade routes 3) People – vibrantly dressed people who are wonderful hosts and love to treat their guests with gifts, food and festivals 4) Food – famous for its fish catch, they serve crabs, prawns and Surma fish as a delicacy to their guests.
They also have some great home made pickles and desserts that I haven’t had before.

Here are six super simple and basic foods that one should definitely have while in Gwadar

6. Khatti (Sour) Daal and Rice with special mango and olive pickle
Since Gwadar doesn’t have lot of restaurants yet, you can either try some of these items at Super Salateen hotel or make a stay at the very reasonable and recommended Port Grand Hotel at the sea front and have them serve you these delicious treats while you stay. Their manager Mr. Muneer is a very hospitable guy and will treat and serve you like his own family.
